I knew the Sorel brand was a great boot for snowy weather and would keep her warm and these looked really elegant when I saw them online. Plus, they were on sale, extra nice! It was her birthday and so I ordered them to send along with some other gifts for her. I received them in a timely fashion and when I opened them up, the first thing I noticed was that they are now made in China instead of Canada! I was a little disapointed right away, but the craftsmanship seemed to be there. The leather was really soft and the boots did look good. I tried them on before I had planned to send them to her, and although they fit me ok,there were several issues in getting them on. First of all, the zipper was extrememely difficult to operate, it hurt actually, to get them to zip up. Plus I had a hard time pulling the boots over my ankles and feet,(and I have slim ankles and legs) the boots are pull on style even tho they have a... Keeps my feet warm but only to a certain extent. For deep freeze in Chicago, it doesn't keep my feet warm enough, I still feel my foot starting to freeze by -20 degrees. I work around it by wearing a much thicker sock. I have yet to find boots that will keep me warm in the middle of winter. |
